Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-01
The short version
This policy covers the WaveLatch website, the WaveLatch desktop app, and its license server. It explains what data we collect, why, and how to reach us about your information.
Your footage never leaves your computer
WaveLatch syncs video and audio files directly on your own machine. Your camera files, audio, and the exported sequence are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored by us. All processing happens locally.
What we collect to run a license
To issue and enforce a license we store: your email address, your license key, and a one-way hashed device identifier derived from a local hardware ID. We never store or see the raw hardware ID, only its hash.
For the 14-day free trial we store only that same device hash (no email) together with a start date, so we know when the trial began.
What we collect when you buy a license
Purchases are processed by a third-party payment provider. We never see or store your card details. The provider passes us your email, the product you chose (Solo or Studio), and the amount paid, so we can issue your license key.
Automatic update checks
The app periodically checks wavelatch.com for a newer version. This is a routine technical request with no personal data attached to it.
The website
wavelatch.com uses no tracking cookies, analytics, or advertising. Your chosen display language is remembered locally in your browser (localStorage) so the site shows it next time; it is never sent to us.
Where data is stored
The license server runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure (Workers and a D1 database), under Cloudflare's own platform security.
How long we keep it
A license record is kept for as long as the license is active, and afterward for support purposes. A trial record is short-lived and used only to enforce the trial period.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. It is shared only with the service providers the product needs to run (hosting, payment processing), and only to the extent required.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete what we hold about you at any time by writing to [email protected]. Deleting a license record may deactivate it on your device.
Children
WaveLatch is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
We will update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes. Continuing to use the product after an update means you accept the new text.
Who runs WaveLatch and how to reach us
WaveLatch is operated by Maayan Israel. For any privacy question, write to [email protected].
